About the Speaker:
Dr. Shamika Ravi is a leading Indian economist currently serving as a Member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM), holding the rank of Secretary to the Government of India. Her highly influential research focuses on the economics of development, financial inclusion, health economics, and gender inequality.
Previously, Dr. Ravi served as a Senior Fellow in the Governance Studies Program at the Brookings Institution (Washington D.C.) and as Director of Research at Brookings India. She has also been closely affiliated with the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) and is a visiting professor of economics at highly acclaimed global management institutions.
She publishes extensively in top-tier academic journals and writes regular columns for leading national financial dailies, championing an institutional framework driven by rigorous, open data.
